A few days ago we had a branch weighed down with some snow fall in the front yard of our house. And so I recovered a pinecone or two for Christmas decorations. Here’s one of them photographed with the Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens.

More Christmas Tree Photos
Since I have an early Christmas present I couldn’t resist using it with my Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens. I therefore took this picture. And no, the head didn’t actually come from the above linked camera shop.
Actually I also checked out my Rokinon 12mm f2 lens as well (see below) , so this turned out to be a bit of a test of both the lenses and the tripod mount.

Christmas Tree Decorations
I have not had an opportunity to get out with the camera today, but we do have a Christmas tree in the living room and it’s a perfectly photogenic model.
And here is the tree in full.

VA Band Gig
The Seed & Feed Marching Abominable band provided entertainment today at the holiday party for veterans and their family here at the Atlanta VA facility. We did a short standstill performance and I believe everyone had a good time.
And following the indoor performance we placed for a few minutes outside.

Emory Walk
did
It was a pleasant afternoon for a walk last Thanksgiving Day, so I drove over to the Emory University Daycare center, parked the car, and then walked along the bus route to the main Emory University Campus. Actually I was initially heading to the old railway station Depot so that I could take photos for trover. This web service is particularly intriguing for me since it holds location based photos and these photos can also be displayed against a google map. Needless to say I was excited at the prospect of trying it out and as I’d already posted some photos of local objects of interest I decided to add photos from Emory.
And here’s a photo of the the Depot which is now a restaurant and coffee shop.
Here’s a photo of the student cafeteria which is certainly well lit by the sun which at this time was low in the late November sky.
I pressed on a little further that afternoon since I wanted to get a picture of the Emory Quad. Here it is.

Agile Photography
This photo was taken with my Sony a6500 and then transferred via wifi to my iPhone 7 Plus. At this point I processed it somewhat (clipping a little) in Snapseed before finishing processing in VSCO with a filter to highlight some of the rather muted colors in this building. I like the effect and in particular I like the quick turn around (just using jpegs and not RAW) from camera shot to final web posting. There's no desktop computer involved at all.

Old Decatur Courthouse
I’m always partial to these reflected images and so here’s another one. This time the reflection is of the historic Old Courthouse which now houses the DeKalb History Center. It's situated on the Square of that city.

Lullwater Mushroom

I caught site of some mushrooms on my way back from walking around Lullwater Park this afternoon. Actually as you can probably see the one mushroom in this image is on the other side of a fence. I was able to shoot through a gap to get a clear shot of the fungus in question.
